Does Florida charge sales tax on gold and silver?
No. Florida exempts qualifying gold, silver and platinum bullion from sales tax at any purchase amount.
- Until August 1, 2025 the exemption only applied to transactions over $500; HB 7031 removed that threshold entirely.
- Products outside the bullion definition — certain collectible currency and world coins — can still be taxable.
- The $500 minimum was repealed effective August 1, 2025 (HB 7031) — small bullion purchases are now exempt too.
